This course builds on learning in Grades 7 and 8 geography. Students will explore relationships within and between Canada’s natural and human systems and how they interconnect with other parts of the world. The course examines environmental, economic, and social geographic issues relating to topics such as transportation options, energy choices, and urban development5. Students will apply geographic thinking, use the geographic inquiry process, and utilize spatial technologies to investigate various geographic issues and develop possible approaches for making Canada a more sustainable place to live.
